After just 8 days, I've been awarded higher rate mobility and higher rate care - fantastic news, exceeded my expectations and has restored my faith in the benefits system. The secret of my success - join the Benefits & Work website and follow their advice ............. avoid the tick boxes, describe your disability in great detail, even if you have to repeat yourself over and over again, and send supporting evidence from GP, physio, surgeons, employer etc. Carol

Thank you all! A total contrast to my review 2 years ago which took 10 months to conclude! I'm not the quickest though, another Benefits & Work subscriber had a decision in just 3 days! Carol

That's just fantastic news!!! makes a change to have good news re DLA too. Will look into if if things get worse for me, thanks for the advice on claiming too x BARBARA

Thanks everyone! Amanda, I am currently on full DLA but it ends October 2010, after 2 years, so I had to start from scratch and fill the forms in again. Bonus is this time its open-ended. Carol
